TERMS AND CONDITIONS – CARLSON GRACIE AMSTERDAM
1. GENERAL PROVISIONS
By registering and participating in activities at Carlson Gracie Amsterdam (“CGA”), the student confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions in full.
Carlson Gracie Amsterdam reserves the right to modify class schedules, internal rules, training structures, and these Terms and Conditions whenever deemed necessary.
2. LIABILITY WAIVER AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK
The student acknowledges that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a contact sport involving intense physical activity and inherent risks of minor, serious, or permanent injuries.
By participating in classes, open mat sessions, competitions, seminars, or any activities related to Carlson Gracie Amsterdam, the student voluntarily participates at their own risk and accepts full responsibility for any consequences arising from participation.
Carlson Gracie Amsterdam and its owner shall not be held liable for:

Injuries sustained during training, competitions, or events;

Accidents or physical damages occurring on or off the premises;

Loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings;

Inability to train due to injury, illness, or medical conditions;

Class cancellations, schedule changes, or temporary closures.
3. HEALTH CONDITIONS AND MEDICAL RESPONSIBILITY
The student declares that they are physically and mentally fit to participate in martial arts training.
The student is responsible for informing Carlson Gracie Amsterdam in advance of any medical condition, injury, contagious disease, or physical limitation that may present a risk to themselves or others.
The owner of Carlson Gracie Amsterdam reserves the right to deny participation to any student whose condition may compromise the health, safety, or well-being of other members.
Students are strictly prohibited from training with contagious illnesses, skin infections, open wounds, or any condition that may place others at risk.
No refunds, suspensions, or automatic extensions of memberships will be granted due to injury, illness, or temporary inability to train, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
4. HYGIENE AND CONDUCT
All students are expected to maintain high standards of hygiene, discipline, and respectful behavior within the academy.
Students are required to:

Train with clean training equipment and appropriate attire;

Maintain proper personal hygiene;

Keep fingernails and toenails trimmed;
-
Cover any cuts, wounds, or skin irritations before training;

Keep training areas clean and organized;
-
Dispose of waste properly and avoid leaving personal belongings unattended.
Carlson Gracie Amsterdam maintains a respectful and safe training environment and does not tolerate:

Aggressive or abusive behavior;
-
Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation;
-
Disrespect toward students, visitors, or the academy;
-
Conduct that negatively affects the training environment or reputation of the academy.
Violation of these rules may result in warnings, suspension, or immediate termination of membership without refund.
5. CLASS POLICY
Carlson Gracie Amsterdam offers both Gi and No-Gi classes according to the academy schedule and training guidelines.
Open mat sessions and additional training sessions may be counted as classes unless otherwise stated.
Class schedules may be adjusted during holidays, special events, or vacation periods.
For first-time visitors, a Gi may be provided by the academy for the trial class. From the second class onward, students are required to have their own Gi. Carlson Gracie Amsterdam also offers Gis for purchase.
6. PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY
Membership cancellations or subscription changes must be requested by email with a minimum notice period of one full calendar month before the next billing cycle.
Failure to complete payments may result in:

Suspension of training privileges;

Administrative fees;
-
Reinstatement of registration fees;
-
Additional collection costs where applicable.
All payments are non-refundable unless otherwise required by law.
Carlson Gracie Amsterdam reserves the right to adjust pricing, membership structures, and payment policies at any time.
7. PHOTO AND VIDEO CONSENT
The student authorizes Carlson Gracie Amsterdam to use photographs and video recordings taken during classes, seminars, competitions, or events for promotional, marketing, and social media purposes.
Students who do not wish to have their image used must notify the academy in writing.
8. BRAND PROTECTION AND NON-SOLICITATION
No student or member may use the Carlson Gracie Amsterdam name, logo, teaching materials, student network, or brand identity for commercial purposes without prior written authorization from the owner.
Students and members may not actively solicit or recruit Carlson Gracie Amsterdam students for competing academies, private lessons, or similar commercial activities during their membership and for a period of 12 months following termination of membership.
Any professional partnership, teaching collaboration, or authorization related to Carlson Gracie Amsterdam shall require the express written approval of the owner.
9. RIGHT OF REFUSAL AND TERMINATION
Carlson Gracie Amsterdam reserves the right to refuse or terminate membership or access to any student or visitor who:

Violates the academy’s rules or policies;

Endangers the safety or well-being of others;
-
Causes material or reputational damage to the academy;
-
Demonstrates behavior incompatible with the values and standards of Carlson Gracie Amsterdam.
Termination of membership under these circumstances may occur without refund.
10. APPLICABLE LAW
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands.
Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent Dutch courts.
FINAL DECLARATION
By signing up, registering, or participating in activities at Carlson Gracie Amsterdam, the student confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to all Terms and Conditions stated above.
